Intact Insurance announces appointment of Hugues Poyet as Managing Director for France

Intact Insurance is pleased to announce the appointment of Hugues Poyet as Managing Director for France, effective 19 January 2026.

In his role, Hugues will be responsible for leading the company’s strategic development in France, ensuring the delivery of profitable growth and operational excellence. He will oversee all business activities in France and will play a key role in strengthening relationships with brokers, clients, and other stakeholders in the French market. Hugues will be based in Paris and will report to Nadia Côté, CEO Europe and Head of Specialty Lines UK.

Hugues brings more than 25 years of experience in the insurance industry. He started his career in casualty brokerage and PI & Cyber underwriting in a Lloyd's syndicate. He then moved to MSIG France in 2009 and hold various positions in the seventeen years from Head of Casualty and Specialties underwriting, P&C Underwriting Director, Deputy General Manager and quite recently General Manager during the merger phase with MSAISE.
